The following review has been written by Sheffschefs after a visit to the establishment. All visits are made anonymously, as ordinary paying customers. The Delhi Junction restaurant has the unusual location of being in the old station building at Dore Railway station. The station is still operational, but instead of a waiting room, you can get an excellent Indian meal instead. They promise 'a break from predictability' and we're pleased to say that we did get this, both in the surroundings and from the menu. It's not your average kind of Indian restaurant and has an appealing art deco feel about it, with chic black tableware and napkins, complemented by some fine Indian artwork. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we were quickly settled in with drinks to have a look at the menu. It was refreshing to see items on the menu that we had never come across before and we decided to make the most of it by ordering a Tandoori Red Snapper Shashlish and chicken Tikka Delhi Chaat. Both came to the table on iron platters that were absolutely sizzling and they looked very appetising. Both dishes were tasty, very mild but nicely spiced. We did feel that portions were a little on the small side though and we resorted to ordering an extra Nan bread to fill us up. It was only an impromptu midweek meal, so we didn't stop for pudding, but by the time we left, it was starting to fill up with couples and family groups.
We'd recommend it if you fancy an Indian meal, and the location makes it a bit different from your average Tandoori.
