We visited the Dam House for a birthday meal - having never been there before it was a bit of a gamble but happily it paid off.

There were 6 of us dining so we tasted a good range of dishes and all were excellent - particular highlights included aubergine caviar, roast beef and yorkshire pudding, and chocolate truffle.

The Dam House isn't cheap, but when we visited on a Sunday there was a set menu which we ate from, with 2 courses for £10.95 and 3 for £14.95 which was very good value given the quality and size of portions.

The service was attentive (although admittedly the restaurant was very quiet) and we had an excellent view from our table.

I really can't find fault with our experience, and would definitely recommend this as a place to go for a special occasion.
