If you yearn to find a stylish city centre place to relax, have a drink or eat a meal, then this could be the place you have been waiting for. Crystal is a bar, lounge and restaurant, located in the very chic converted Sheffield scissor factory on Carver Street.

It's an impressive place, but also comfortable, with plenty of big squashy sofas to sink into, making it the ideal place to call into with friends when you want to relax and catch up with them for lunch or after work. The bar is amazing; with rows and rows of every drink you could think of, lined up across a swish mirrored backdrop. All set off nicely by lots of dark leather, chrome and wood.

Ours was only a flying visit for a lunch time bar meal and as it was prior to a girlie outing to Spa 1877, we felt inclined to be healthy and stuck with the salads. That said, they were big enough to make a satisfying lunch dish and were full of lovely fresh ingredients. The other good thing about this place is that they serve some nice fresh juices, so instead of something full of preservatives from a bottle, we were offered a refreshing mix of fresh orange and cranberry... very healthy and delicious (we did of course try the wine on our second visit - well you can take the health thing too far can't you?!)

If you ever need somewhere to take friends from the big city, when you are trying to prove that Sheffield is up there with the best of them, try Crystal. It has enough gloss to paint a door, but it's very nice with it and the staff too, are warm and friendly.
