Our family love this restaurant. Having eaten in Michelin
starred restaurants around the world, Artisan is the only establishment in
Sheffield that comes close to fine dining.
The staff are attentive yet unobtrusive, the food is beautifully cooked,
immaculately presented and well served. The "special wine list" is a
dream to a vinophile such as me, particularly complimented by the staff
changing the usual glasses to beautiful well weighted crystal ones that
add to the enjoyment of sipping a fine wine that is difficult to source.
Scallop starters are sweet and moist, my stepson is particularly fond of
the fresh fish selection, and my partner loves the more interesting cuts
of meat like the slow roasted belly pork.
Desserts are to die for, particularly the chocolate cake that has
spacedust in the base, a truly explosive experience!
[Some other reviews] seem to be negative. Mainly, it seems,
due to the pricing. I have to say that if you are going to eat in a good
restaurant you are not going to be eating chillcooked food with chips that
costs £5.99 a plateful. If you appreciate great food and impeccable
service then you have to be prepared to pay for that. And we do,
regularly.
